Hi all,
Just finished Maeve Binchley "This Year It Will Be Different", lots of short stories about how people's christmases will be different. Odd to be reading it in spring I know, but I liked the fact it was short stories so easy to pick up and put down. If anyone wants it they are very welcome, just let me know. Calling Clareok - would you like Shadows of the Workhouse? If so pm me your addy and I will send it on, if not, let me know so I can offer it around. It was a good read, passed onto me by the lovely Lisa. Better go, someone is waking up and someone else is suspiciously quiet, surely not a repeat of the sudocrem nightmare from a few weeks back ![]() ![]() Love Liz xx

Hi Fellow Readers,
Can hardly believe it's May already! I'm reading, 'The Forgotten Garden'. Just started it last night & am hooked already. Also reading 'Chasing Harry Winston' but haven't really got into it yet. I seem to find it a bit hard to identify with/ get into the amercan lingo. But I will read on! Going on my hols in 2 weeks so must get some HOT holiday reads together

Hi Ladies
![]() MUST enthuse about The House at Riverton by Kate Morton which I have just finished She is from OZ yet paints a perfect picture of English country house life in the early 20thC. It's an enthralling story of mystery & complex relationships So good is it that I wished it hadn't finished & wanted her to write more about the characters Recommended to all! Allie xx |

Allie !
That is exactly how I felt about The House at Riverton ![]() MM, I read The Devil Wears Prada which was written by the same author as Chasing Harry Winston and at the beginning I found that too youngish and 'Americanised' for me and left it. Then I read that the author - Lauren Weisberger had been a P.A. to Anna Wintour at Vogue so realised it may be not so farfetched as it seemed so picked it up again and finished it with a fair amount of enjoyment. Therefore when Chasing Harry Winston came out I tried to give it a fair go and seeing as things are a bit tight financially this year did that awful thing of reading a few chapters of it in Borders Just finished Penny Vincenzi's "The Best of Times", it wasn't my favourite of hers but still very enjoyable all the same. The worst thing is it will be 2 years till her next new novel. Happy May Reading Ladies Leanne Leanne x |
