I have only missed one af so far i guess due to peri' but that month i initially had af pains and kept thinking i was about to come on. had one normal af since then but this month (i am on cd32) and think i might miss another af but i have off and on strong af pains. is this yet another joyful peri' symptom? i am sure i read somewhere it is, thanks (i am 46 btw!) ta

Sadly perimenopause symptoms are also very like pregnancy symptoms (hence many of us older ladies doing a hpt when we miss our periods ).It's almost like your body is stalling isn't it? Are you thinking of testing? Judyxxx

not a chance of me being pg, sadly. i don't feel at all pg, although funny really as ttc unsuccessfully for No. 2 for nearly 6 1/2 years it would have been the first thing to come into my head up until about a year ago but now it doesn't occur to me. i no i am not pg. when i missed my first af a few months ago admitedly i did do more than one pg test but i wasn't. i just have cramping/odd pains and desperately want to come on. tbh i feel sad at the thought of not having af's anymore, they have been a part of my life since early teens; i know/think most women would be glad to see the back of them. i feel so incredibly hormonal too, off and on most of the time whether i am due on or not
it's funny actually, but you have put the idea into my head, i really hadn't thought to do a test, but it is the same as last time, large sensitive breasts, etc but no, i'm not paying out for one of those tests again, to painful, even now i have given up ttc, when the test comes up neg. odd really, as a larger part of me doesn't want another child now but there will always be a part of me that does. not sure if i should go to dr. i hate going to dr. had smear in sept as well as scan to check my ovaries and uterus, thank the lord it all appeared ok. i'll try and go with the flow. i don't think i could go on hrt anyway, not that i want to as i don't, as i think it has oestrogen in it and from what i can gather if you have a history of uterine cancer in your family you shouldn't take anything with that in it. x

Hello again Jo,
I have run the gauntlet of symptoms: Nausea, tender breasts, bloating, and the worst yet 'hormonal migraines! I have never had migraines before, however a google search & mine were a text-book case, arriving cd 8 of my cycle! I too am loathe to take any drugs as I am allergic to my own shadow! ![]() ![]() My periods (when they arrive) are now much longer than they ever were! At the moment I am trialing a natural supplement which is meant to help! Hugs Judy xxx
