Thumbs up At last!

Maybelline & Lancome have been for their misleading adverts showing

their products & air-brushed models!

(Julia Roberts the face of Lancome has the complexion of a 12 yr

old!)

It's about time IMO!

Agreed! A mate of mine who is a whizz with Photoshop once "airbrushed" a photo of me, to show me how I could appear with all the technical wizardry. Lengthened my legs, skimmed off bulgy bits, smoothed out lines and uneven skin tone, brightened various bits, even changed my eye colour. I looked stunning, but alien - not really me at all. It was a very strange experience! But it showed me how fake and misleading so many photos of models etc are, that we're meant to aspire to - it's an unattainable ideal. Very, very unfair.

This is great news! These "perfect" models give youngsters as well as old farts like me, unrealistic ideas about beauty and sap the confidence out of people.

If you buy this product, you'll look like me blah blah blah, when they don't actually look like that anyway!!

My DH works on artwork all the time, he could make Arthur Scargill look like Elle.

Totally agree with all this. As a more hirsute lady, when I was younger I used to find it very dispiriting to see all the hairless faces of models in magazines, even dark featured ones, and not a hint of stubble for where any hairs may have been - made me feel like a freak. So it was a surprise to find when I started work that half the women in the office had a hint of a tash, albeit not as impressive as mine would have been if I didn't pluck it every morning, but it made me realised I was on a sliding scale of normal hairiness, rather than 'off in the weeds' as I had felt up until then!

Also, do you notice the small print at the bottom of the screen during the hair colour ads with Cheryl Cole and Davina McCall? Yes, they have lovely thick bouncy hair, shame its's someone else's
