Default baby to be buried after 21 years

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7529152.stm

i thought this was so sad.
i know you can never know how you would react, unless it had happened to you, but i can't imagine leaving a baby in a mortuary for 21 years

I read about this, it's very sad but the Father disagreed with the cause of death.

I don't think that anyone gets and peace in a resolution this way but how long can you live a life with a child not laid to rest.

I saw the dad being interviewed on the news the other day.

It is very sad & I suppose they haven't been able to let go in the hope that they will get some answers one day. It must be an awful thing to have had hanging over them for the last 21 years.

I have to agree with you all i could'nt leave it hanging like that I know we had to wait 3 months before we could bury my brother as they needed to confirm cause of death even thpough we knew why and it was agonising
so i can only imagine what they are going through
at least now i suppose the little one can be put to rest

love tracy x

An incredibly sad story, but I do honestly believe that the council have made the correct choice here. Little christopher should be laid to rest now, well long ago infact, I'm sure his parents thought they were doing the right thing, but 21 years is just too long in my opinion!

Much Love

Vanessa

i know the father thought the cause of death was wrong, but there must come a point where you say 'enough is enough' and sign it even though you disagree.
surely when you lose someone, you need a place to go.. whether that be to lay flowers, or just to feel you are near them,
and how can you do that, if there is no final resting place?

I never even heard of this story, until now, I dont understand why the father would know the son had died of blood poinsoning, when the autopsy said it was cot death?? Surely the doctors would know> bless him now though as he will be laid to rest.
Very sad story.
