Default March Book Thread

Morning all,

Redeeming myself after last month's very late start to this thread

Must confess that other than magazines and some boring dog behaviour papers I have not read this month (unless you can count upteem reads of the Gruffalo, John Joe and the big hen, Thomas the tank engine !!).

My Harry Patch biography remains barely touched, I think I may leave it for a while and ease myself back into reading books with the story of Endal, the amazing assistance dog.

What is everyone else reading?

Love
Liz

Hi girls

Just finished Karin Slaughter Genesis.........good and gory!

Have also read Diane Chamberlains The Bay at Midnight and The Lost Daughter.....both good as well!

Moving on to the new Douglas Kennedy one Leaving the World.

Dont have as much time for reading between Leo and the dogs taking up all my free time but can usually manage a couple of chapters before falling asleep!

Keep up the reading if you can........love to hear what everyone else is reading.

I'm finding it so hard to find anything at the moment that I can stick with, not really like me. Think I'm finding it too hard to stop thinking of work so cant really get into anything.

I'm reading a book called Rumour by Angela Lawrence. It is written by a woman who lives in the village (a former BBC journalist) and is self published. It's extra interesting because she has set it in the local area and did lots of research about the affect of the first world war round here (the time in which the book is set). Quite enjoying it. Liz, have you ever read "The Bad Dog's Diary", a friend bought it for my birthday a year or so ago and it was very funny.

Hi Fellow Readers,

I'm (still) reading 'Lucy's Monster'. I've had it a couple of years but
finally getting stuck into it. I've always got so many books on the go
that I tend to get a bit distracted.
Also reading the 2nd book in the Jamie & Claire Saga which I'm enjoying.

Think I'm going to read 'Twilight' next to see if it's up to all the hype.
If it's not up to standard I'll let you all know

Happy reading x

Well, I am busy reading books for Uni I probably should have read years ago. Have just finished Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray", Jane Austen's 'Northanger Abbey" and currently reading Dangerous Liaisons. Also have to have to have read and prepared a presentation on Great Expectations for the week following Easter.

Oh the new Joanna Trollope book I bought for our Easter getaway is looking so good.

Liz, have you read the book about Endal? I read it last year and it was absolutely brilliant and so well written, especially as it is written by both him and his wife, so you get two different aspects on it. What an amazing dog Endal was as well.

Hi,

Nice to see what everyone is reading - I keep meaning to start the Twilight books too, keen to see if they are as good as everyone says.

Ruth I haven't read that book, sounds like it could have been written by my dog (he excels at being bad and when you earn your living helping people train their dogs its rather annoying - this mornings piece de resistance - eating a leftover burger someone had dropped on the pavement - despite being told to leave it!)

Debbie - I am reading the Endal book, it is really good, I have spoken to Sandra when I was considering adopting a 2nd dog from Canine Partners (a failed assistance dog).

One for the dog lovers, but sad - Marley and Me - not seen the film cos the book had me in tears.

Love
Liz
