I don't know if there is actually a "normal" period of time. For me, I had to give up b/fing at 6 weeks as it just wasn't working for either of us and AF had the audacity to arrive only a week later! I was most annoyed having hoped she'd stay away a lot longer. I'd barely got passed the bleeding you get after the baby's born before she turned up.

My sister was b/fing my eldest nephew, had no periods, but still got pg.

We worry when we do get her and worry when we don't. she's a strange old creature isn't she?

That's a shame about the arthritis though.
