I had a lovely visit today from an old friend, who drove down from Norwich to spend the afternoon with me. We met over 20 years ago, when there was so much potential for what could happen in the future and shared so many hopes over the years. In the end, some things happened and some things didn't but we have that shared history of hopes fulfilled and failures endured that the best friendships have. It was wonderful to see her and natter together, we took Dog and Sophie to the beach and shared cake and coffee. A lovely relaxing time.
