Big grin A good weight gain now

Well the midwife has just been to visit us again and review Lily-May's jaundice and weight.
She was a little shocked to see that I had stopped breastfeeding as she had recommended I carry on when I last saw her on Thursday. I explained to her why I had made the decision and she has been extremely supportive.
She said that Lily-May was still slightly jaundiced but is no so much more alert and is no longer screaming from hunger for hours on end.
When she weighed her I could not believe she had put on 1lb and 4oz since Thursday and has gone from 6lb 8oz to 7lb 12oz and hopefully when the midwife comes back on Monday she will be back up to her birthweight of 8lb 2oz.
I feel so much better now and know I made the right decision for Lily-May.

What a difference a few days makes !!!!!

Love Jackie x x x

Hi Jackie

That is good news, I'm really pleased for you that Lily-May is putting weight back on. As you say, you made the right decision for you and your baby.

That's brilliant news Jackie

Sounds like you have definitely made the right decision for both you and Lily-May, so well done you! She will probably gain weight really well from now on.

Keep us posted.

Wonderful news, Jackie - must be such a huge weight off your mind knowing that Lily May is getting enough fluids in her now.

When I had Jessica I was made to feel like a leper because I wasn't able to breastfeed and choose formula instead. This time round with Emily, I was given support and told that whatever made me and Emily comfortable was ok.

At the end of the day, as long as baby is happy and you are happy that baby is happy, then whatever you do is fine...

Well done

Joy
