LONDON (Reuters) - All expectant mothers in England will be given the choice of a home birth under plans unveiled by Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt on Tuesday.
The Royal College of Midwives welcomed the announcement but said the NHS needed an extra 3,000 midwives to make it work. The scheme would fulfil a Labour manifesto pledge that by 2009 all women would have choice over where and how they have their baby and what pain relief to use. More >> Source: Yahoo!
