Thumbs up Mothers will win right to breastfeed in public

Mothers are set to get a legal right to breastfeed in public places under an overhaul of Britain's equality laws.

The proposal will be unveiled by Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly today as she launches consultation for a Single Equality Bill to simplify and modernise the law.

About time too! Don't know why some people were/are so anti, mums are very discreet, so most people wouldn't even know. Yet some of the same people LOVE to see women topless on the beach - double standards I'd say!

About time, why are some of our laws so outdated!! Most of us dont show them off anyway but are very discreet, if someone doesnt like it tough. They dont stop animals feeding at the zoo, so why humans.

Ahh, yes, two gratuitous displays of.........nothing. My mum and I were looking at these photos the other day and commented that if you didn't know I was bf Phoebe you wouldn't realise.

This law is definately a step in the right direction!

I agree. I always fed my sons in public, If someone doesnt like it, then look away. Like Jenny's pics show it can be done discreetly. I wouldn't let a child go hungry just because some narrowminded people have hang ups! ok rant over.
