Default Milk bottle tops

I am collecting milk bottle tops for ES (Equine Section) the charity that raises awareness of horses going to the fattening farms (for the meat trade) and sending them live on a 3 day journey to Italy to be slaughtered. The re-cycling centre is in Portsmouth and very kindly Sharon has agreed to help by having the bottle tops sent to her OR you can send them direct to the Company - you have to put ES on the label so they know who you are collecting for. It takes an awful lot of tops to raise every to raise even the minimum £25 but if we all do it I reckon we might even have enough to save a horse by Christmas - probably next Christmas but it all helps!! This is the email I got which explains more about the scheme;

Dear Maggie.

Thank you for enquiring about the collection of milk bottle tops.

Its sounds as though you are very passionate about the cause you are supporting and we are more than happy to take the tops for you.

As you are aware we don't collect from Kent but are more than happy to collect from your friend in Portsmouth or she can bring them to us. For us to make a collection we do ask that there are at least 10 black bin bags so she may find that she is unable to store this amount so bringing them to us may be easier for her. You are more than welcome to post them if you wish although I don't think that this would be wise as the cost of postage will probably be more than what the tops are worth.

We ask that you make sure that it is just milk bottle tops you collect and no others as they are different materials and could contaminate what you do collect meaning we would be unable to recycle them. We also ask that you make sure the tops are clean of any labels or foils as this is also a cause of contamination.

When the tops are delivered to us we ask that you make sure they are labeled with your name contact number and the charity which you are collecting for this way if we do have any problems we can contact you directly.

Once we have received the tops they are weighed and these details are recorded onto both paper and computer, once you have reached your 500Kg target we will contact you to let you know and a cheque of £25.00 will be dispatched.

I hope this information has been of help to you and if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards

Kim
