Thought you might like to hear the details:-
Had quite a restless night on the Tuesday 9th March, but woke up Wednesday morning with some pain but didn't think much of it at first, after about 30 mins of being up and awake they were coming every 10 minutes so knew then it was happening. Got DS1 ready for school, and my father-in-law took him for me, sorted DS2 out with breakfast etc still having them every 10 mins or so, about 9.00am they started to feel stronger, phoned DH at work and said you best come home, more because I was worried about being here on my own with DS2 and something happening .DH then took DS2 to his parents, I got in the bath for a bit and we rang the hospital because I wanted to get there in time to receive my a/b for GBS - they said to come up in about 20 mins as they were full but were just sorting a room out. Got to the hospital at 10.30am, after what seemed like ages and much faffing was examined and she said I was about 4/5 cm dilated and in established labour so she would sort out the a/b - they didn't arrive until 12.30, anyway got the first dose in, started having gas and air about 1.30pm, eventually they started to get stronger and more frequent, waters went about 3.30pm, so I thought it wouldn't be much longer (comparing it to DS2's labour) but the contractions seemed to ease off and I was getting really tired, and a bit happy on the gas and air and DH said I stopped pushing for what seemed like ages, had another dose of a/b at 4.30pm and eventually after some coaxing from DH got back into it and Ben was born at 5.06pm. Had him on my chest for ages and the little devil did a big no2 (and no1) all over me, it was everywhere . Eventually he went to DH while I had some stitches (2nd degree tear) and delivered the placenta etc. Have to say that DH was brilliant throughout, really supportive and encouraging - would've been lost without him.Spent one night in hospital and came home on the Thursday evening about 7.00pm, DH went to get the other two and brought them home, they were thrilled with their new brother - it was lovely to see , DS2 kept saying "new baby, new baby" and DS1 said if we have another baby can we have a girl .Hope you don't mind me sharing Thanks J
