Disappointed......
Hey ladies.
After a few discussions with my GP we finally got referred to a specialist, had the appointment on Friday.
We wasn't really prepared for the discussion that it turned out to be. Cut short a long story because of my cycle he feels I have PCOS, although going to have ultra sound etc to double check. My partner had a sperm test done at the GP, which she said was fine, actually turns out isn't fine and the quality of his sperm is fine but he has well below average quantity.
With this in mind the consultant feels the best and high probably only option is IVF. We totally were not prepared for this was shocking to hear a) I may have PCOS b) my partners sperm is very low (so angry with my GP) and then IVF. To make it worse because my partner has two children we cannot go for this on NHS (totally unfair).
We potentially could afford one shot at this but because the % change of actually getting pregnant is very low my partner doesn't want to take this risk, he is too worried of the impact on me. As for me I do agree but I also think well you never know. The consultant said that whilst it working once statistacally you have a higher change on the 3rd round of IVF. This is never going to happen for me.
I am devasted beyond belief and am now resigning my self to the fact I am never going to be a mummy. I never thought it would be so difficult!!
Hope all is well....and good luck to you all xxx
