Does anyone know anything about this?
My little boy will be 3 next month. His teeth are close together, and it looks like he has some sort of decay around the front ones. He has an appointment to see the dentist next week, but I am very anxious in the meantime. DH blasted me this morning, and said it's all my fault for not brushing Nate's teeth properly. We got in a big argument. Nate was breastfed longer than all my other 3 combined (16 months total). He has never had any soda; the only things he ever drinks are water, milk, and unsweetened fruit juice. He occasionally has a dish of ice cream, but that's about it for sweets. When my others were babies, I was young and ignorant and would even give them a bottle in their cribs! I didn't do this with Nate (I understand that's a major cause of teeth problems in very young children.) They also ate some pretty bad things sometimes. But, there wasn't a cavity between the three of them. ???My diet while PG was healthy, and I even took extra calcium supplements. The only difference I can think of is, we lived in an apartment when the others were small, and they drank city water, which contains fluoride. Because they were all bottle fed after an average of 5 months, they got lots of water. We have well water here, so Nate has never had any fluoride, and neither did I while pregnant with him (other than what I brushed my teeth with). Can somebody please enlighten me? I don't want to be yelled at for something that really isn't my fault. How are all your little ones' teeth, and if they have problems, what were you told caused it, please? Many thanks! |
