Samaritans - Samaritans provide a confidential and non-judgemental listening service which operates 24 hrs a day to all ages. They offer emotional support to people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

American Academy of Pediatrics - dedicated to the health and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

Association for Improvements in the Maternity Services - working towards normal birth, providing independent support and information about maternity choices and raising awareness of current research on childbirth and related issues.

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) - branches throughout the U.K. and other countries, providing support in pregnancy, childbirth and post-natal care. Runs ante and post-natal classes, including exercise. Also has nationwide network of women who have experienced miscarriage and are willing to offer support to others, so that they can try and come to terms with it.


NAMC | National Association of Mothers' Centers - a community group established and operated by mothers. Mothers meet to support and learn from each other, as well as from community professionals.

Time for Parenting - an initiative of Full Time Mothers (FTM). which was founded in 1990 by parents concerned about the relentless drive to get all mothers into paid employment outside the home and all children into third party childcare.
